Economic views tend to be based on the perceived benefits to the individual. It is why Americans from all income classes prefer tax policies that reduce their individual tax burden, even if those policies are fiscally unsustainable and far more beneficial to the wealthy. It is also why the managers of trade-dependent businesses generally prefer liberal trade relationships and why workers often oppose policies that favor imports. Unfortunately, people are inclined to be terribly shortsighted when it comes to their economic interests. As such, most people typically focus on their own narrow, short-term perceived economic benefits and exclude their broad, long-term economic benefits. It is why those who wish to avoid an impending US-China trade war, including the Chinese government, have launched political campaigns emphasizing the individual impact.

Google is known for its relaxed work atmosphere and culture. Google employees arguably receive the greatest amount of freedom and personal benefits a company can possibly afford to give its employees. Although the financial success of Google fuels this workplace lifestyle, the culture of Google is the product of its founders and their efforts to maintain the atmosphere that helped them create Google in the first place. In the Google culture, play is just as important as work, because it is seen as a means of fostering creativity and, ultimately, innovation. For Google employees, the barrier between professional and personal is essentially nonexistent. Professionalism is more or less viewed as a constraint or sickness that needs to be purged from the workplace. As awesome as the “unprofessional” atmosphere of Google sounds, however, it can also be detrimental.
Backlash against Fox News Laura Ingraham, who mocked outspoken Parkland School Shooting survivor David Hogg and saw a withdrawal of several advertisers as a result, is only part of a much broader controversy. In the wake of the Parkland School Shooting, a number of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High spoke out against mass shootings and helped energize a series of rallies, which sought to change gun laws among other policy shifts. Right-wing Second Amendment supporters and anti-gun control factions responded by basically framing the politically active teens involved in the budding gun control movement as political pawns of Left-wing gun control activists. Public discourse surrounding the Parkland Shooting has only continued to degenerate, which is a tragedy for the Nation in itself.
